ARTIST STATEMENT

I've always been drawn to all American Icons; from celebrity portraits, to Classic cars from the 50's, 60's, and 70's.

After WWII, the American economy took off. Americans could afford to build a brand new lifestyle. Cars gave people more freedom in life, and were the "must have" item for everyone. This was truly the beginning of the machine age of the 50's. My Classic Car series, highlights some of the true artistic masterpieces that we call automobiles.

The Movie and Music Industries of the 30's, 40's, and 50's gave Americans an aspirational lifestyle. Through countless celebrities like, Marilyn, Elvis, and Barbara Streisand, the world had people to emulate, and look up too. My portraits are my own vision of these Iconic people, and I feel a closeness to each one.

I strive to push my own creative boundaries, and after designing clothes for some of the mega brands of the world, I feel a great emotional release with each piece I create. Not only do I have the Classic Car series and The Portraits, But also an extensive Travel series, Nature series, and abstract series.

Everyone has fond memories of the past… an old movie, your first great car, a vacation abroad, or just an endless summer… I try and let people see something of themselves in my art.
